Ben-Amun Crystal Drop Earrings
Ben-Amun Crystal Drop Earrings
A line of crystal, then a pear shaped drop at the end of it, hung on antiqued silver that has been deliberately darkened so the stones do all the talking. Deco lines, milgrain edges, a long clean fall that catches light every time you turn your head.
Isaac Manevitz founded Ben-Amun in New York in 1980 and has been making it by hand in a Garment District atelier ever since. Egyptian born, working from the idea that costume jewelry should be sculpture, using Czech glass and real craft in a category most people treat as disposable. Jacqueline Onassis wore his work. So did Jane Fonda, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna. That range is the whole point.
He has said he designs for a woman who wants to be noticed and who can quietly command a room. These are that pair. Wear them with a black dress and nothing else. They do not need help.
