Gold Tone Panther Link Chain Necklace
Gold Tone Panther Link Chain Necklace
Brick set links, three bars across, each row offset from the last so the whole thing moves like something with a spine. This is the panther link, and it is one of the few chain patterns that behaves more like fabric than like jewelry. Lay it flat and it is a ribbon. Put it on and it wraps.
The bar links are finely ribbed, a run of parallel lines across every face, and age has settled into the grooves while the raised surfaces stayed bright. That contrast is the reason it reads as gold rather than as gold colored. A flat polish would have looked cheaper.
It closes with a fold over box clasp, the kind with a tongue that snaps down and stays down, and there is a maker's mark stamped inside it.
Wear it on its own at the base of the throat. It is doing enough.
