The Nightbloom Bangle
The Nightbloom Bangle
A branch that turns into a flower. The band is cast as a twig, gold, with the small nubs still on it where buds would have been, and it opens on a hinge so it goes around the wrist rather than over the hand.
The flower is the whole argument. Broad petals in silver tone, edged in gold where the two finishes meet, with a gold throat curling open at the center.
There is a whole tradition behind this style. Claude Lalanne spent a career in Paris dropping actual flowers and vines into galvanic baths and pulling them out as metal, and Yves Saint Laurent was one of her clients. This piece is not hers, but it comes from that lineage and it performs the same trick: taking something that had a season and giving it a much longer one.
Wear it on a bare arm. Anything you put next to it will lose.
